【Abstract】 Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) caused by perinatal asphyxia is a complex and serious
disease, resulting in great threat to the health and life of newborns. Hypothermia is the most promising measures for
the treatment of HIE. This essay tries to summarize the neuroprotective mechanism, the key points in practice, and the
adverse reactions of the therapy.
