(Excessive daytime sleepiness,
(Continuous positive airway pressure,

【Abstract】 Sleep disorder is common after traumatic brain injury (TBI), including sleep-disorder breathing
(SDB), excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS), and insomnia. Poor sleep can have adverse impacts on cognition, atten-
tion, and judgment. In patients with TBI, disrupted sleep has been shown to impair rehabilitation efforts and progres-
sion, and is associated with diminished quality of life measures. The treatment of TBI-related sleep disorders is the
same as for uninjured patients and includes the use of medications, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), or be-
havioral modifications.
