【Abstract】 Objective To investigate the human papilloma virus (HPV) infection among subjects undergoingphysical examination and outpatients in our hospital in recent 4 years. Methods A total of 1 885 subjects undergoingphysical examination and 15 569 outpatients in Shanghai Baoshan Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospitalfrom January 2019 to December 2022 were selected. Samples of vaginal or urethral secretion were collected from all sub-jects, and HPV infection was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-reverse dot blot. HPV infection and infectiontypes of subjects undergoing physical examination and outpatients and the infection in subjects of different genders andages were recorded from 2019 to 2022. Results In 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, HPV infection rates were 18.98% (97/511),39.53% (17/43), 17.16% (1 607/9 365), 15.05% (1 134/7 535), respectively. The HPV infection rate of subjects undergo-ing physical examination and outpatients were increased first and then decreased, with the highest rate in 2020 [21.43%(3/14), 48.28% (14/29)] and the lowest rate in 2022 [15.05% (1 134/7 535), 15.88% (1 066/6 712)]. The single infectionrate of HPV increased first, then decreased, and then increased, with the highest rate in 2020 [82.35% (14/17)] and thelowest rate in 2021 [61.54% (989/1 607)]. The multiple infection rate of HPV decreased first, then increased, and then de-creased, with the highest rate in 2021 [38.46% (618/1 607)] and the lowest rate in 2020 [17.65% (3/17)]. The single in-fection rate of HPV of subjects undergoing physical examination and outpatients showed a trend of first increase andthen decrease from 2019 to 2021, and increased again in 2022, while the trend of multiple infection was opposite. TheHPV infection rate of females in 2020 was 36.84% (7/19), which was higher than 15.33% (69/450) in 2019, which showeda gradually decreasing trend in 2021-2022. HPV infection rate of males were gradually decreased from 2019 to 2021, andincreased again in 2022. With the increase of age, the infection rate of HPV in females and males showed a trend of in-creasing first and then decreasing, and the infection rate was higher in 21-40 and 41-60 years old. Conclusion HPV in-fection among subjects undergoing physical examination and outpatients in our hospital from 2019 to 2022 were mainlysingle infections. HPV infection may be more common in males, and HPV infection in both males and females was morecommon in 21-40 and 41-60 years old.
