      【摘要】 4-乙酰胞苷(N4-acetylcytidine,ac4C)是一种存在于 tRNAs、rRNAs和mRNAs上保守的化学修饰核苷类型。ac4C的形成主要受N-乙酰基转移酶10 (N-acetyltransferase 10,NAT10)的催化,主要功能是集中在翻译的过程中促进 tRNAs正确地阅读密码子以提高翻译效率或促进mRNAs的稳定性。此外,研究发现 ac4C与多种人类疾病的发生、进展及预后发生显著关联。本文综述了ac4C在调控基因表达及在人类多种疾病特别是在癌症中的功能及机制,展望了 ac4C未来可能面临的研究挑战及相关核苷修饰对mRNAs互做的研究策略。

Research progress on the formation and function of N4-acetylcytidine and its association with diseases.

Zunyi Medical and Pharmaceutical College, Zunyi 563006, Guizhou, CHINA【Abstract】 N4-acetylcytidine (ac4C) is a chemically modified nucleoside that is found on tRNAs, rRNAs, andmRNAs, which is primarily catalyzed by N-acetyltransferase 10 (NAT10). The main function of ac4C is to help tRNAsread codons correctly, which improves translation efficiency and promotes mRNA stability. In addition, ac4C has also beenlinked to the onset, progression, and prognosis of a number of human diseases. This paper reviewed the function and relat-ed mechanism of ac4C in regulating gene expression and in a variety of human diseases, especially in cancer. We also re-viewed the possible future challenges of ac4C and the strategies of related nucleoside modifications on mRNAs.
