【Abstract】 Objective To study the changes and clinical significance of Th22 cell subsets, interleukin-6(IL-6), and procalcitonin (PCT) levels in patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Methods The clinical da-ta of 130 patients with inflammatory bowel disease from April 2019 to March 2021 in Angang Group General Hospitalwere retrospectively analyzed, including 70 patients with Crohn's disease (Crohn's disease group) and 60 patients with ul-cerative colitis (ulcerative colitis group). Sixty healthy people during the same period in the hospital were selected as thecontrol group. The Th22 cells, IL-22, IL-6, and PCT levels were compared among the three groups and among the pa-tients with the different degree of disease in Crohn's disease group or ulcerative colitis group. The correlation betweenTh22 cell subsets, IL-6, PCT, and disease severity was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis. Results The Th22cells, IL-22, IL-6, and PCT levels in Crohn's disease group were significantly higher than those in the ulcerative colitisgroup and control group, and the Th22 cells, IL-22, IL-6, and PCT levels in the ulcerative colitis group were significant-ly higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). In Crohn's disease group, theTh22 cells, IL-22, IL-6, and PCT levels in active stage patients were significantly higher than those in remission stagepatients, and in ulcerative colitis group, the Th22 cells, IL-22, IL-6, and PCT levels in active stage patients were signifi-cantly higher than those in remission stage patients, all with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Pearson correla-tion analysis showed that Th22 cells, IL-22, IL-6, PCT were positively correlated with the severity of Crohn's diseaseand ulcerative colitis (P<0.05). Conclusion Th22 cell subsets, IL-6, and PCT levels are significantly increased in pa-tients with Crohn's disease and those with ulcerative colitis, and they have close relationship with the degree of illness.
